Directions to Hacienda Yaxcopoil

General Hacienda Yaxcopoil is part of the Hacienda Route south of Merida and is also on the Puuc Route, Convent Route and in the middle of the Mayan World or Mundo Maya. This is an excellent location as a base for exploring the Yucatan or for a casual visit during a longer road trip. The Hacienda is located about 33 kilometers or 20 miles (30 minutes) south of Merida, the capital of Yucatan State, on Federal Highway 261, at Kilometer 186.		From Merida Use any major southbound street (Calle), such as Calle 42, Calle 50 or Avenida Itzaes, until you arrive at the Periferico, or beltway, that surrounds Merida. Proceed to exit No. 1 to Highway 180 South to Campeche, near the airport. About 13 kilometers from Merida, take the exit on Highway 261 South to Uxmal and the Puuc Route. Follow the signs to Uxmal on 261 for about 11 kilometers to arrive at Hacienda Yaxcopoil.
Yaxcopoil by Public Transportation The best way to get to Yaxcopoil is to use the colectivos (van). The colectivo stop in Merida is located on the side of the Mercado Lucas de Galvez that is on Calle 65 between Calle 54 and Calle 52. Ask for the colectivo that goes to Uman. The cost for this is $8 pesos. Once you are in Uman, on the west side of the park across from the entrance to the church you will need to get on another colectivo that will take you to Yaxcopoil. This will cost an additional $8 pesos. It will stop directly across from the entrance to Hacienda Yaxcopoil.
